Level 1: Principles of Applied Engineering #8700

This course provides an overview of the various fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and their interrelationships. Working on design teams, students will use multiple computer hardware and software applications to conduct research, design and create projects, and present ideas related to biotechnology, electronics, robotics, and automation. Students will use appropriate tools and demonstrate safe work habits.

Level 2: AC/DC Electronics - Renewable Energy #8744

(Freshman who completed Principles of Applied Engineering in the 8th grade are APPROVED to enroll in this LEVEL 2 course in the 9th grade)

This course provides an in-depth look into AC/DC Electronics focusing on the basics of electricity principles of alternating current/direct current (AC/DC) circuits. Students will demonstrate knowledge and applications of circuits, electronic measurement, and electronic implementation as it relates to renewable energy. Additionally, students will explore career opportunities, employer expectations, and educational needs in the electronic renewable energy industry.

Level 3: Solid State Electronics - Renewable Energy #8745

This course provides an overview of Solid State Electronics of advanced circuits, electrical measurement, and electrical implementation used in the electronics and computer industries with a focus in renewable energy. This course will review the application of engineering principles and technical skills to troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronic components, equipment, and power electronic systems in a project-based environment.  Additionally, students will explore career opportunities, employer expectations, and educational needs in the electronics industry.

Level 4: Practicum in STEM #8746

A course designed to give students practical application of previously studied knowledge and skills. Students develop technical knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics career field.
