The mission of the Benefits and Risk Management Office is to exemplify outstanding customer service while promoting healthy lifestyles among all employees and their families through ongoing district wellness initiatives, by protecting the district's human, physical and financial assets through identifying, measuring and minimizing loss exposure.

We also strive to provide employees and their families with comprehensive, affordable insurance programs and personal asset management vehicles to secure current and future health and well-being.

Northside ISD offers employees a suite of health, dental and vision benefit plans insured by United Healthcare.

By virtue of being a public institution, the district offers unique options for pension and tax sheltered retirement plans.

Work-Life Balance Program/EAP

Northside ISD, through Aetna, provides a free comprehensive resource for employees and their families for achieving balance with work and their personal lives. It provides help with workplace stress and family issues such as parenting, education, aging, financial and legal questions, addiction and recovery and emotional health.


Early Childhood Collaboration Program

Northside ISD offers a tuition-based preschool program for children of employees on several elementary campuses within the district. The children must be three or four years of age by September 1st of the current school year to participate. The program is an inclusive preschool with both early childhood certified and special education certified teachers. The curriculum offers a wealth of developmentally appropriate experiences for young children planned to incorporate TEA's Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines.


Employee Discounts at Community Businesses

The Northside ISD School-Business-Community Partnerships Department makes it possible for Northside ISD employees to receive discounts for products and services with local businesses. Discounts for health clubs, automobile insurance, cellular phones, area childcare and many others are available. A complete listing of "Partnership Perks" is available on the Partnerships web site.


Free Admission to Athletic Events

Northside ISD employees may attend athletic events at district facilities at no cost by presenting their employee ID at the admission gate.

(Special events may require the employee to pay for admission. Free admission is allowed for Northside ISD employees only; family and other guests must pay posted prices at these events.)


Leaves of Absence

Northside ISD offers various types of Leaves of Absences. You may apply for a leave of absence online and print the necessary paperwork there.
