Spring Semester (8 weeks)
Second grade students will work in groups to design arcade type games out of cardboard. They will think through game design, strategies for success, rules, and prize systems. At the end of 8 weeks they will showcase their games at science night.
2 Separate Sessions: Fall/Winter
Coding club is a group where students learn to coding GoogleFirst and Scratch programming. Content varies with each session, but topics include storytelling and musical creations!
Fall & Spring
The basis of FLL is a robotics tournament in a cheerful atmosphere, where kids need to solve a tricky โmissionโ with the help of a robot. The kids are researching a given topic within a team, planning, programming, and testing an autonomous robot to solve the mission.
Fall/Spring, twice a month on Fridays
The Military Kids Club provides military children an opportunity to socialize with other students that have similar experiences, participate in leadership activities, and service projects.
Wednesday/Fridays 7:00 am - 7:45 am in Music Room
Noteworthy Orff Ensemble is open to fifth grade students. This non-auditioned group meets Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:00 am to 7:45 am in the music room. Noteworthy is a group that has received state recognition by the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and was invited to perform at the 2018 State Conference. These students incorporate singing, dancing, instrument playing, and creative movement into thematic performances. Noteworthy performs at both the Fall and Spring Fine Arts Showcases.
Tuesdays/Thursdays 7:00-7:45 am in the Music Room
Mireles Strings is a program for beginning strings students in fifth grade to learn how to play the violin, viola or cello. The classes are taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00-7:45 am in the music room and on the stage. Students perform for the school in the front foyer during the winter holidays and at our Fall and Spring Fine Arts Showcases. The beginning string students also compete in our annual Mireles Solo and Ensemble Contest. Fifth graders who successfully complete the requirements of the program have the opportunity to move from Beginning Orchestra to Intermediate Orchestra at the middle school level.

Student Council is a club that promotes citizenship, scholarship, leadership, and school spirit as it fosters the development of future leaders.

YGO is a club for young men who want to learn leadership skills and skills that will help them improve relationships with peers and adults.
