STEM Information at Driggers ES
Welcome to the Driggers STEM lab! I am the STEM Teacher, Mrs. Aguiar.
STEM is part of the Discovery rotation. Students come to STEM once every 8 school days. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. STEM integrates these different subject areas and TEKS into a cohesive, hands-on learning model in Inquiry-Based Learning.
In STEM, students collaborate with peers as they work through the design process: ask, imagine, create (test), collaborate, and improve their design challenges while working towards a goal.
The student goals for the program are:
To improve the student experience in school through Discovery Time
Develop 21st-century learning skills
Develop grit
Develop digital citizenship
Develop skills that will be used beyond the STEM lab
Develop connections for students to potential STEM careers and fields
