Graduation ceremony

Northside graduation ceremonies are dignified events. Students, families and guests are expected to respect the dignity of the occasion. 

• All bags, purses, backpacks, cases, and persons are subject to inspection.
• NO noise makers (air horns, bull horns, bells, whistles, etc.) are allowed. The use of noise makers will result in immediate removal from the premises.
• NO extremely loud shouting and screaming, or disruptive verbal outbursts are allowed.
• NO weapons or firecrackers, etc. of any kind are allowed. Possession of these items will result in immediate removal from the premises.
• NO “laser” pointing devices are permitted.
• NO balloons are allowed.
• Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
• NO “Reserving” or “Saving” of seats, multiple seats or rows.
• NO standing or sitting in the aisles or walkways is allowed.
• All guests must have their own seats.
• When using cameras and video recording devices, you are not allowed to block the view of others.
• NO tripods, selfie sticks, or monopods are allowed.
• NO wrapped presents will be allowed.
• Banners and signs are prohibited including posters on poles and “fatheads.”
• No illegal drugs or substances.
• No outside food and beverages are allowed.
• No glass vases are allowed.
• No animals are allowed except for service animals.
• Northside graduation ceremonies are esteemed occasions. In accordance with NISD standards, graduation caps and gowns must remain unaltered and uncustomized. Additionally, only school-related cords, sashes, and medals are permitted. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a dignified ceremony that honors our graduates and their achievements.

Violation of the above can result in ejection from the ceremony.
