Cardboard Arcade

 

Available to second grade students:

Cardboard Arcade is a tuition-based after-school program in Northside Independent School District. It is an engineering program where students work in teams or individually to design, test, redesign, retest, and eventually create a working arcade-type game. Students consider game design, rules for playing, and prior science knowledge when designing their games.

Flight Club

 

Flight Club is an after-school program for kindergarten and first grade students. During this 8 week program, students learn about the basic principles of flight and design. Students work to design, test and modify tools that interact with air - kites, parachutes, paper airplanes, and simple rockets.

Mission Statement

We inspire 3 rd - 5 th grade girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

The self-esteem fitness program is designed for pre-teen girls to:

โ€ข Discover the benefits of consistent physical exercise and good nutrition.

โ€ข Improve her body image and strengthen her sense of identity.

โ€ข Learn the advantages of positive peer support.

โ€ข Learn to stand up for herself in a healthy manner.

โ€ข Prepare to participate in a 5k run/walk event.

The Raptor News is back for the 2022-2023 school year! 5th graders who would like to be on the news can ask their teacher or Mrs.Rodriguez if they can try out! Other grade levels will be used as pledgers, but will be called in by Raptor News Crew student. For more information, please talk to Mrs.Rodriguez or TSS Fernando Luna! 

Rhodes Safety Patrols

 

We are the Leaders of tomorrow.

Our responsibilities are to greet and assist students in the student drop off and pick up areas of the school crosswalk safely.

We also raise our three school flags with Respect and Honor.

Safety Patrols help with school events throughout the year.

We are nominated by our teachers for our best behavior, attitude, and most importantly, our hard work.

STEAM Club

 

Available for third grade students:

STEAM Team is a club to encourage third grade students to use their creativity to design during several engineering challenges.  The challenge is to design Rube Goldberg machines, which are fun, yet complicated, humorous machines that perform a simple task. 

Young Astronauts Club

 

The Young Astronauts club is geared towards students interested in all things space! We strive to interest students on what it takes to become an astronaut and engage them in fun activities involving the moon, the planets, stars, and NASA.

Young Gentlemen's Organization

 

The Young Gentlemenโ€™s Organization is a mentoring organization designed to help young boys develop into young gentlemen, who will carry themselves in a gentlemanly manner.  The club focuses on fostering respectable young men through character lessons, leadership opportunities and by bringing positive role models within the San Antonio community to club meetings. 

Some skills they learn during their time in the program include:

How to tie a tie.

Dress professionally. 

Learn basic cooking skills.

Perform service projects on campus.

Conversation skills.

How to plan for their futures.
