PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Rayburn Families,

It's been a week filled with testing and learning. This Monday, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all schools will be closed. We look forward to seeing our Raiders bright and early on Tuesday morning. With cold weather in the forecast, please stay informed on the latest conditions and ensure our Raiders are bundled up and safe. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

NISD Immunization Day and Resource Fair-Saturday, January 18th

In collaboration with Metro Health and University Health, Northside will be hosting an immunization clinic/resource fair on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 11:00 am-3:00 pm at the Northside Activity Center.

University Health is recommending an appointment. 

Metro Health is administering immunizations on a first-come, first-served basis (no appointment necessary).

UNIVERSITY OF THE INCARNATE WORD GLASSES

February 25th UIW will be providing free eye examinations and letting kids choose frames for free glasses.

If you received an email from the Rayburn Clinic stating your child failed their vision screening, your child is eligible to go to Incarnate Word Optometry. A registration packet and permission slip would need to be filled out prior to this date, so if you are interested please call the Rayburn Clinic.

If you did not receive an email, but your student is in need of glasses, please call the Rayburn Clinic. They can be screened and given a referral so they can become eligible. 

Registration packets must be back to me by February 10th. Free transportation is provided during the school day.
 

NISD Immunization Day/Resource Fair-Saturday, January 18th

Vaccines and a chance to receive a free laptop? What?

Yes, you read correctly. :)

A community partner is offering a chance to receive a FREE laptop through a lottery system. 

The following steps must be followed:


1: Receive vaccine(s) @ the NISD Immunization Day on Saturday, January 18th

2: Provide the updated immunization card to the onsite district Health Services team

3: Receive a wristband (proof that steps 1 & 2 were completed)

4: Visit Comp-U-Dopt’s table to register.



Families must meet the income guidelines
1 entry per household 
Laptop giveaway will be conducted at a special event scheduled for a later date
 

FREE VACCINE CLINIC

Hopscotch Urgent Care is hosting a free vaccine clinic on January 16th and January 30th from 4:30-7:30 p.m. No appointments required.

FCA = Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Join us as we gather together to talk about gospel. All are welcomed to join! See you next Thursday at 8am in the girl's gym.

Dyslexia Decoded

Join us for Coffee Chat Thursday on January 30th @ 9:30 am as we navigate the dyslexia journey together. Ms. Trevino, SCE Reading Teacher will be presenting a wealth of information as we learn and grow together. We can't wait to see you!
