Brandon Masters - Principal
Mr. Masters joined Rayburn Middle School in the Fall of 2022, following five years of service as the Assistant and Associate Principal at Briscoe Middle School. His career began at Jones Middle School, where he taught science for 9 years before entering the Intern program. During his teaching career Mr. Masters was awarded the Educator of the year for Anson Jones Middle School in 2016 and Educator of the Year of the state of Texas by the Texas Caucus of Black School Board Members in 2017.

Mr. Masters grew up in San Antonio and is a product of Northside ISD. He attended Lackland City Elementary (Allen) and Pease Middle School and concluded as a graduate of John Jay High School. Mr. Masters attended college at the University of Texas San Antonio receiving his undergraduate and masterโ€™s degrees from the university.

Mr. Masters believes that interacting and connecting with the students and staff creates a collaborative school environment and is key in creating success in the classroom. He also prides himself on his strong and consistent leadership style which he believes enriches the educational experience at Rayburn Middle School.

During his free time, Mr. Masters enjoys all things basketball, his extensive shoe collection, and most importantly, spending time with his family.

Robert Alvarado - Associate Principal

Robert Alvarado received his bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and his Master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Birds Up! He began his educational career with the Northside School District in 2003 where he taught 7th and 8th grade history for 13 years before becoming an assistant principal at Folks Middle School in 2016. He was fortunate to become part of the Rayburn Raider family in 2019 as the associate principal. Mr. Alvarado believes that every student deserves a quality education in a safe and engaging environment. His role as a campus administrator is to provide that environment and help students achieve their fullest potential. He is excited to welcome back each and every Raider for the 2022-23 school year.
