The Elementary Strings Program is for 5th Graders and allows the students to get a head start in learning to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass.

This group meets all year long on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00am -7:45am. If students successfully complete the year, they are placed in an intermediate orchestra class in middle school.

Registration is closed for the 2023-2024 school year.

Flight Club is an after school program that encourages students to learn about flight. We will learn how to design, create, test, and improve their designs. Students will learn about flight through designing kites, parachutes, paper airplanes, and balloon or straw rockets. Meeting dates are listed below:

The Mustang Choir consists of 4th & 5th grade students who rehearse for varies performances throughout the year. 

The Mustang Choir performs for special events (i.e. Mustang Stampede) and also presents several concerts per year.

The first performance this year is for Veterans Day on Friday, November 10 @ 8:00 am.

The second performance will be on Tuesday, December 12 when they will be presenting, 'Karaoke Christmas'. This show will include the Elrod/Nichols Choir & Strings!  Performance will be in the Nichols Cafeteria.  Time TBA.

Nichols Nature Kids is a club for 3rd-5th graders who love the outdoors! We are Monarch Heroes and are improving our pollinator garden this year, plus we are hikers, bird watchers, nature journalers, planters, and love the outdoors in general! 

Our meeting dates:

  • April 18
  • May 23

We have hikes on Saturday, January 20, and Friday, April 26.

Our workdays are on Saturday, December 9 and February 24, and our Earth Day fundraiser will be after school on Friday, April 19.

We will attend the Project ACORN Showcase on Saturday, May 18, at O'Connor.

STEAM Team is a club to encourage third grade students to use their creativity to design during several engineering challenges. The challenge is to design Rube Goldberg machines, which are fun, yet complicated, humorous machines that perform a single task.

The Nichols Student Council is an organization that promotes citizenship, scholarship, leadership, and school spirit as it fosters the development of the future leaders of our schools, cities, state, and country. Our Student Council also supports service learning, as projects are planned to benefit our students, families, and community.
