Approximately 230 students representing 23 NISD elementary and middle school campuses competed in separate brackets to be crowned the Grand Champion of Northside ISD in the FIRST LEGO League Masterpiece Challenge.
Students had a 30-minute session with volunteer judges who scored their robot design, innovation project, and how they utilized the FIRST Core Values during their robotics season. They also took their highest robot game score out of three opportunities at the robot game table to calculate a final score.
FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through fun, exciting hands-on learning.
Student teams this year were challenged with the MASTERPIECE theme to think about the creativity around us.
