Measles Statement

Feb. 24, 2025

The Metropolitan Health District has been made aware of potential measles exposures in the San Antonio community. While we have no reason to believe at this time that any exposures have affected our schools, out of an abundance of caution we want to remind our families of the following recommended action.

  • Contact your health care provider if you believe you, or someone in your family, may have been exposed or are showing symptoms;
  • Review your family immunization records to ensure you are current on vaccinations;
  • Monitor for symptoms such as a fever or unexplained rash for 4 to 21 days after exposure;
  • Follow the advice of your healthcare provider on when to stay home from work, school, or other gatherings. However, if your child has a fever of 100.0ยฐF or higher, please keep them home until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.

For more information, please review the City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health Districtโ€™s release dated Feb. 23, 2025
