Six Northside ISD PTAs have been named 2019-2021 National PTA Schools of Excellence.
Evers, Forester, Nichols, and Scarborough elementary schools, Briscoe Middle School, and Clark High School are among 326 schools from across the country to receive this special designation, and are six of the seven PTAs in the Bexar County area to receive this top honor.
The awards are given to PTAs for their achievements in building strong family-school partnerships as part of the National PTA’s ongoing efforts to increase family engagement in education.
“We are extremely proud and excited that these schools have been recognized this way,” said Dr. Brian Woods, superintendent. “We know that students succeed when there is a commitment by the parent, a mentor, and/or a role-model to be involved in the life of a child.”
This is the sixth year in a row that NISD PTAs have received this designation. Past recipients include Beard, Cole, Ellison, Hoffmann, Helotes, Leon Springs, Los Reyes, McAndrew, Mireles, and Murnin elementary schools, and Folks, Hobby, and Pease middle schools.
