The start of the next school year will be here soon, so now’s the time to start planning on what you might need to be ready. To find out the answer to such questions as what school supplies to get, when bus schedules are announced, or how to register your child for school, visit Northside ISD’s Back to School website.

This school year, all NISD students (whether new or returning) must first register online at https://nisd.net/student-registration. Students who have not already registered, have recently received a letter with instructions on how to complete the process. If you have questions, please contact your child’s school.

School starts Aug. 26 for an estimated 106,000 students in Northside ISD. The last day of school is June 4, 2020.  There are 88 instructional days in the first semester and 89 in the second semester for a total of 177.

Beginning the 2019-2020 school year, the hours for secondary schools were slightly adjusted with middle schools running from 8:40 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. and high schools running from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

The Back to School website includes the most frequently asked questions including information about registration, immunizations, calendars, school supply lists, bus routes, and more.

Those moving to San Antonio due to a military relocation should check out our website for military families.

NISD will continue to enforce its “No Shots, No School” policy. For more information, click here.

In addition, parents are encouraged to sign up for a SchoolMessenger account to receive text message and email alerts from their child’s school. You can also keep up with District news through our Facebook and Twitter pages.
