Counseling programs win state awards

The Texas School Counselors Association recognized Warren High School, Stevenson and Rayburn middle schools, and Wanke Elementary School with 2016 CREST Awards for Counseling Excellence.

CREST stands for Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas. Schools receiving the CREST award have demonstrated a commitment using the school guidance and counseling program to improve the lives and achievement of students in academic, career, and social domains. 

Sixty two schools in Texas were recognized with CREST Awards this year.

This is the second year in a row that Warren and Stevenson have been recognized with CREST Awards.

Warren HS counselors are Melea Wade, Emily Morin, Virginia Ware, Jill Laman, Evangelina Piedra, Angela Taylor-Blackshear, and Jorge Ramos

Stevenson MS counselors are Paula Phelps, Jill Lewis, and Claudia Figuero

Rayburn MS counselors are Dr. Minerva Rosales, Juazzelyn Barrera, and Juan Lira

Wanke ES counselors are Hector Beza and Katherine Zapata
