Science

The word science is derived from the Latin word, scientia, 'knowledge.'  As stated in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, science is the use of evidence to construct testable explanations and predictions of natural phenomena, as well as the knowledge generated through this process.

It is the goal of the Northside Alternative High School and NISD Secondary Science to facilitate learning, instruction, and assessment in each science classroom. Students are afforded these opportunities in their Life and Physical Science courses. Our teachers come from a broad range of backgrounds and are experts in their fields of study/teaching.  Our teachers bring in real-world experience into the classroom to provide an enhanced learning environment for the students.
