Math

The Mathematics Department at NAHS provides students with opportunities to gain a better understanding of the subject that they are in. Students follow a curriculum that is created by the district that follows the standards and guidelines of the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills).

Courses are taught by highly qualified instructors who strive to use effective methods and strategies that are research based. In our classes students have access to the latest in calculator technology. The device used in class is a TI-Nspire. Our teachers emphasize that these devices are simply tools to assist them to analyze situations and not just to compute or find the "answer".

Our department prides itself in taking students at all levels. We meet students at whatever level they are at  and facilitate their growth in knowledge of the subject they are taking. At the heart of our department is a genuinely caring staff who are willing to do whatever it takes to help our students be successful.
