International Languages

Students are strongly encouraged to study  Spanish, French, German, ASL or Latin.  Here at Alternative we offer Spanish and Latin and we facilitate other languages when needed.

Spanish is the second most spoken language in the U.S., and it is widely spoken here in San Antonio.  We believe it is important to learn the language that will benefit students in any field of study they choose to pursue.  Our goal is to give our students an advantage in seeking university acceptances and scholarships, and make them more desirable in the workforce.

We provide many activities focusing on the skills of speaking, writing, reading, and listening, while incorporating the technology students learn in other classes.

The study of a language other than English will heighten students' global awareness and will help them develop an appreciation of their immediate surroundings and beyond. Armed with the benefits of their adventures in the World Language programs, students will be able to make positive contributions to our society.
