Jess Garza, Principal of Lieck Elementary
Jessica Garza - Principal
My name is Jessica Garza and I am so honored to be a Lieck Lion! ! I have had a great journey in education since 2001. In Northside ISD, I have taught fourth grade at Powell Elementary and third grade and Campus Instructional Technologist at Shirley J. Howsman Elementary. In 2013, in its inaugural year, I was appointed as Vice Principal at Kay Franklin Elementary. In 2019, I was honored to serve as the Vice Principal at Cable Elementary. In March 2020, I was blessed and proud to be named principal at Edmund Lieck Elementary School.

I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Biology. Later, I received a Master’s degree in Integrated Technology in the Classroom from Walden University. This degree was earned through a PAVE grant that was offered through a partnership with NISD and Walden University. Finally in 2010, I earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Go Runners! Needless to say, education plays an important part in my life and those around me.

At Lieck Elementary, we strive to maintain a safe school environment, challenge our students with high levels of motivation and engagement and keep the best interests of the whole child at heart.

I encourage you to contact me at any time if you have questions, concerns, or comments.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our school pages..

Jessica Garza, Principal

Hello Lieck Lions,

My name is Susan Schottler and I am so proud to be a Liek Lion Leader! Being part of a military family I have had the opportunity to experience a diverse educational career for the last 22 years. I have taught at all levels from elementary to high school in several different states and in 2016 I was fortunate enough to join Northside ISD.

I began my career in NISD at Anson Jones Middle School, spent some time at Rudder Middle School and most recently at Bernal Middle School as the Assistant Principal. I made the decision to return to elementary because that is where my heart is. I am honored to serve as the Associate Principal at Lieck Elementary and I am excited to work with an amazing team and community each and every day!

I attended St. Mary's University where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English Language Arts and Reading. I also hold a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Massachusetts and my Principal Certification from Lamar University. Education has always been my passion and I look forward to contributing to an environment focused on learning and building meaningful relationships with the Lieck family and community!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.

Respectfully,
Susan Schottler, Associate Principal
