The special education team at Hatchett Elementary strives to provide a supportive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that nurtures all students with a variety of needs. Learning is tailored to meet the ability of each individual student in the least restrictive environment that allows them to reach their potential both academically and socially. Within the learning environments, we promote that students recognize their abilities and utilize their strengths while receiving high- quality instruction. We believe that each child has value and the ability to learn and it's our responsibility to foster the belief in their values by discovering their talents, developing their skills, and encouraging self-confidence and motivation. Our Hurricane special education staff consists of special education teachers, speech/language specialists, licensed school psychologists, and teacher assistants.
