Hatchett Kindness Connection Project

The staff and students of Hatchett Elementary School are dedicated to nurturing a positive and inclusive environment, and they have proudly extended this commitment into the broader community.

Three years ago, Hatchett students began a heartfelt tradition of creating Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine's Day cards for residents of three local nursing homes. Last year, in the spirit of giving, the Hatchett community expanded their outreach by crafting over 400 Christmas cards, not only for the nursing homes but also for service members at Lackland Air Force Base, broadening their circle of kindness and gratitude.

This simple yet meaningful project has been a profound experience for our students and has helped them develop empathy and kindness while connecting with the community.

Through this project, our students have gained a deeper appreciation for building connections and showing care, even from a distance. We hope that these cards bring smiles and comfort to their recipients, letting them know they are cherished and thought of by younger generations.
