Our mission statement: To provide each student with a comprehensive guidance program. In partnership with parents, teachers, administration, and the community, counselors work with students to reach their personal, educational, and career goals. Clark counselors support their students using the four components of the guidance program; which includes, responsive services, guidance curriculum, individual planning, and system support.

Our Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program
Responsive Service
The purpose of the Responsive Service component is to intervene with or on behalf of those students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grades whose personal circumstances, concerns, or problems are threatening to interfere with or are interfering with their healthy personal, social, career and /or educational development.
System Support
The System Support component describes management activities that assure the delivery of a high-quality guidance program and service which indirectly benefits students by supporting other programs.
Guidance Curriculum
The Guidance Curriculum component includes skill-based lessons and units designed to help all students in kindergarten through 12th grade develop competence in essential life skills.
Individual Planning
The Individual planning component is where students are guided in planning, monitoring and managing their own educational, career, personal and social development. Each student is provided with the necessary steps toward his/her established goals.

New Student Registration
What documents do I need to register my child?
- Child's Social Security Card
- An original certified copy of the child's birth certificate
- An up-to-date immunization record
- Proof of residency:
- a current or prior month's utility bill; or
- a notarized Affidavit of Residence (AOR) form.
- A “Power of Attorney” must be completed for students 17 years of age or younger who will not be living with a biological parent. This must be done at NISD Pupil Personnel prior to enrolling.
- Parent/Guardian driver’s license or state ID of person(s) enrolling student
- Withdrawal form from previous school if enrolling during the school year
- Report cards and/or unofficial transcript
Transcripts

High School Profile
School profiles are documents sent alongside a student’s transcript in a college application. This document is the same for every student from a given school. They provide insight to college admissions teams as they review a student transcript to understand the opportunities available to students at their high school. This information is helpful when considering equity and student access to high-quality learning.

- Four Year Planning Guides to help facilitate transition from one grade level to the next
- Grade Level Conferences with students to review graduation requirements and progress

- Assistance in post-secondary readiness
- Career Development and College Readiness Activities

Responsive Services
The Responsive Services component addresses the immediate personal concerns or problems that put student’s personal-social, career, and/or educational development at risk. Responsive services include individual and small group counseling for students.
Students can see their counselor for any concern such as:
- Academic Achievement/ Concerns
- Anger Management

- Conflict Resolution
- Coping Skills/ Emotional Awareness
- Goal Setting
- Graduation Status/ Credit Checks

System Support
The System Support component describes management activities which assure the delivery of a high quality guidance program, and service which indirectly benefit students by supporting other programs.
System Support includes activities such as:
- Counselor staff development, department meetings, small group planning, coordination of guidance activities
- Staff and community relations
- Community outreach
- Program development and management
- Attending college information presentation sessions
- Consultation with teachers, attending ARD/504 meetings, interpret data from testing programs.
- Planning and hosting parent nights & campus activities
