Jeremy Day - Principal
My name is Jeremy Day and I am thrilled and honored to introduce myself as the principal of M’Lissa Chumbley Elementary School. I have spent the vast majority of my educational career in Northside ISD. I started at Allen Elementary in 1996 and have gone on to serve communities at 10 different Northside campuses as a teacher and administrator. I started my administrative journey at Pease MS and continued at Beard Elementary as associate principal and principal for the last eight years. I come from a family of educators, my mother was an instructional assistant, my father was a speech-language pathologist, and my wife is currently teaching in Northside ISD.
At Chumbley ES, we will strive to cultivate a culture of curiosity, creativity, and kindness, where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. Through rigorous academics, enriching extracurricular activities, and meaningful community engagement initiatives, we aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning and equip our students with the skills, knowledge, and character traits needed to succeed in an ever-changing world. I am committed to collaborating closely with parents, teachers, staff, and community partners to ensure the development and success of each and every student.

Welcome to Chumbley Elementary School! I am Christan Woods, your new Associate Principal. With 17 years of experience in education, I’ve dedicated the majority of my career to the Northside Independent School District (NISD) at Aue Elementary School.

I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, where I attended elementary, middle, and high school. I still travel back to New Orleans every year to visit my family and eat lots of delicious Cajun food.

I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, and from Valdosta State University with a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, along with a Gifted and Talented Certification. Additionally, I earned a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership at UTSA.

I began my teaching journey in Kennesaw, Georgia, before moving to San Antonio in 2012 with my husband and our two sons. Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to fostering a love for learning in students and creating a supportive and engaging school environment.

I am thrilled to join the Chumbley Elementary community and look forward to an exciting year ahead. Together, we will make our school a place where learning is not only educational but also enjoyable for every student.

As Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Let’s work together to empower our students and make a positive impact on their lives.
