Save Your School, Save the Planet
Student Council has started recycling once more, so please help out by reducing, reusing and recycling your discarded paper by following their guidelines, beginning with paper only, please. 'Monster’ Drama ProductionBears, Looking for something to do during football bi-week? Next week, Oct. 4th through Oct. 6th, come out and support the theater department’s first fall show, “She Kills Monsters!” This is an action-packed story sure to entertain everyone. Interested in a Military Appointment
Interested in going to a military academy? JROTC will host representatives from Congressman Hurd’s and Congressman Castro’s office, who will discuss all requirements and answer questions Sept. 26. Students must sign up with their S-Number during lunch to be cleared for 6th period. This assembly is open to seriously interested sophomores, juniors and seniors. JROTC also invites parents. Get Out the Homecoming Vote for Your Court
The theme for 2018 Homecoming is "Brennan's Gatsby Affair." Tickets go on sale Thursday, Sept. 13 through Friday Sept 21; the cost is $20 each. Guest forms are now in the VPO to be filled out and submitted no later than Sept. 19. Attire for dance is semi formal (Nice shirt and nice dress). No tickets at the door. Please note the Homecoming game is Thursday, Sept. 20, and the Homecoming Dance is Saturday, Sept. 22. Voting for 2018 Homecoming Court ends Next Monday, Sept. 17 at 4:05 p.m. To vote, go to the voting form.

Students can get schedules, spirit gear, parking permits, off-campus stickers, transportation information, club awareness and much more, like meeting some amazing teachers, staff and administrators. Students need to attend on the correct dates and times. August 14: Juniors, 8 a.m.-11 a.m. and Seniors, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.; August 15: Sophomores, 8 a.m.-11 a.m. and Freshmen, 1 p.m.-5 p.m.

Incoming juniors attend the summer camp, Monday, Aug. 13 to Thursday, Aug. 16,10 a.m. to 1 p.m., to help with AP classes your junior year. With four subjects offered – Environmental Science, English 3, US History, and Physics – students taking AP classes next school year can attend sessions. The first-day will build skills, and the other three days will involve specific subject content, for this program made possible through a DODEA military grant.
