Board of Trustees

Elected by the people to govern Northside Schools, Trustees are the guardians of the public trust and, through the policies they make, are ultimately responsible for our schools. This responsibility and the accessibility of Trustees to the voters make the Board one of the purest examples of democracy in our society.

Northside Trustees represent about 208,000 households located in 355 square miles in northwest Bexar County and parts of Medina and Bandera counties. Northside continues to be the “destination” district in San Antonio for many families seeking a quality school system for their children and for employees seeking a quality place to work.

October 16, 2017

The annual NISD College Night will be held Monday, Oct. 30 from 6-8:30 p.m. drawing 140 colleges and universities from across the nation. Thousands of NISD students are expected to attend the event which will be held in the Recreation and Wellness Center at the University of Texas at San Antonio on the Loop 1604 campus.

Students at Briscoe MS received a close-up, first-hand civics lesson when their campus custodians took the oath of allegiance to become U.S. citizens. The school held a reception to honor the pair, and students in U.S. History classes joined in celebration as a way to learn more about the citizenship process.

Northside will hold its sixth annual Declaration of Respect Signing Day on Friday, October 13, with students and staff across the District signing certificates pledging to demonstrate respect for themselves and all others through their interactions at school.

With a newly-renovated lab space, the students offer professional services at reasonable prices ranging from haircuts and hair color to manicures, pedicures, and facials.

Raymond Turco & Associates, a public opinion research firm, has been commissioned to conduct a comprehensive survey of NISD parents and community members concerning a potential bond election.  The intention of this survey is to better understand the opinions of the district’s stakeholders.
