Rachel Delgado - Principal
Greetings Behlau families! My name is Rachel Delgado, and I am proud to be the Principal of Behlau Elementary School, home of the Bulldogs! I was born and raised in East Chicago, Indiana, which is about 30 minutes away from Chicago. I attended Purdue University Calumet, and Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I moved to San Antonio 2002 where I began working for Northside Independent School District. I taught 3rd and 4th grades at Cable Elementary for 7 years. I attended The University of Texas San Antonio and received a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in 2009. I then helped to open Langley Elementary in 2009 as a 4th grade teacher. I became the Vice Principal of Langley in 2011 and was there for another 4 years. I then had the great pleasure to become the Principal of Lieck Elementary. I was at Lieck for 5 years.

My family includes my husband Joe, our daughters Ava and Emma, and our dog, Rocky. We live close to the Behlau community so you may see me in the neighborhood!

I am passionate about helping students reach their potential, along with teachers and parents. I believe that all students can achieve at high levels by ensuring to support students social, emotional, and academic needs. I am excited about working with the students, staff, and families at Behlau to make it a caring and supportive learning environment for all!
