NISD offers free summer feeding program

To comply with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations, Northside ISD will offer free meals to children from June 10-July 10 (Monday through Thursday). Last summer, NISD served more than 75,000 meals in one month. This year, free meals are available at 16 schools for children who are 18 years or younger.

The list of schools and schedule is:

·         June 10 – July 10 (M-Th) plus Friday, June 13 – Cable Elementary School

·         June 10 – July 3 (M-Th) plus Friday, June 13 – Boone, Hatchett, Knowlton, Martin, and Mead elementary schools

·         June 10-July 3 (M-Th) – Burke, Forester, Glenoaks, Leon Valley, Locke Hill, Myers elementary schools, and Connally Middle School

·         June 10-June 26 (M-Th) – Hobby, Pease, and Zachry middle schools

Elementary serving times are 7:15-8:15 a.m. for breakfast and 10:30 a.m.-noon for lunch.
Middle School serving times are 7:15-8:15 a.m. for breakfast and 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for lunch.

The summer feeding program is part of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and various schools throughout the city will be offering the program.
