The additional 4 cents on the tax rate is needed because funding from the state has been stagnant the last two years and will not increase unless the Legislature takes action on school finance in the upcoming 2009 legislative session, Superintendent John Folks said.
Northside ISD will enforce No Shots, No School policy
Northside students who are not up-to-date on their immunizations will not be allowed to attend classes when the 2008-09 school year begins Aug. 25. The District will enforce its "No Shots, No School, No Kidding" policy.

South Texas' largest public school district begins classes for the 2008-09 school year on Monday, Aug. 25. Northside Independent School District will welcome approximately 88,500 students and over 800 new teachers.
