Children's Health

As we approach the beginning of flu season, we continue to stress the importance of hand washing with our students.  Students also have the opportunity to use a non-alcohol based hand sanitizer before going through the lunch line if they choose.  By practicing good hygiene, we hope that the majority of our Roadrunners will remain healthy this flu season and not share any flu germs.

Cases of head lice are brought to the attention of the school nurse either by classroom teachers or parents.  Parents of students with live lice are immediately notified and students are sent home for treatment.  Parents may consider the following: do not allow long hair to hang loose, instead place in a ponytail or braid and instruct children not to share caps, scarves, headbands, barrettes, etc.
