2014-2015 School Year

You will be receiving a post card (one per family) via U.S. Mail early August with reminders and additional information regarding the upcoming school year.  Meet the Teacher Night is scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  If your address changes over the summer, please be sure to provide the new address along with proof of residence (lease, electric or water bill).  We hope each of you have a fun filled summer, make lots of meaningful memories and remember to read some good books for the Summer Reading Challenge. 

Planning for the 2014-2015 school year, students who will be attending May Elementary School should register in the school office for Kindergarten (5 years of age as of September 1) through 5th grade. 

Documents to Bring:

*Certified Copy of child’s state issued birth certificate (original) or Passport

*Updated immunization record

*Proof of Residence (lease, electric or water bill)

*Parent(s) Driver’s License

*Child’s Social Security Card (to access Parent Connection)

Pre-Kindergarten registration (4 years of age as of September 1) for students residing in the May attendance area and who qualify will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Northside Activity Center, 7701 Culebra Road.  For more information call (210) 397-8780 or visit www.nisd.net/schools/kinder.

During August, parents please be sure to visit Parent Connection to access for the new school year. 

Also,if insterested in applying for free or reduce lunch program be sure to visit the Child Nutrition webpage for an online application. You can also access mylunchmoney.com to enroll and prepay lunch accounts for the upcoming school year. 

Please remember to resubmit to the Online Criminal Background Check in August.  The background check should be resubmitted yearly.  Having cleared a background check is a district safety tool and used on our campus for parents who will be volunteering during campus activities.  

The first day of school is Monday, August 25, 2014.
