With over 18 years of dedicated experience in education, I currently serve as the principal at Straus Middle School. I hold a Bachelor's degree from the University of Incarnate Word, a Master's degree in Reading and Literacy from UTSA, and a Principal Certification from Lamar University.

My passion lies in fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for both students and staff, focusing on building strong, meaningful relationships. Brandy Bergeron
    Assistant Principal

Hello Straus Mavericks!  My name is Brandy Bergeron and it is a privilege and an honor to serve the Straus community as your Assistant Principal. My family and I have been in San Antonio for just over 20 years.  I have been married for 17 years, and I have three beautiful children that all attend or attended one of our outstanding NISD schools.

This year marks my tenth year in education.  I have varied experiences as both a teacher and a school leader.  For the first eight years of my career I served at both the elementary and middle school levels, teaching a variety of grades and content areas.  I also served as a special education coordinator at the elementary and middle school levels, as well as the administrative intern at the middle school level.

My passion is developing positive relationships within the community, working with students as they grow, supporting teachers and staff so that they can reach their greatest potential, strengthening a connection between school and home, and fostering a positive school culture.  I look forward to continuing to be a part of the Straus school and community and learning how I can best support you and our students throughout this school year.

I look forward to continuing to be a part of the Straus school and community and working with our families to best support our students throughout this school year.
