What does Communities in Schools do? 

Communities in Schools (CIS) is a school-based Non-profit program providing services in over 160 schools and 13 school districts. The program's mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. CIS provides support in many areas such as academic, behavior, community outreach, family engagement, physical and mental health, college awareness, basic needs, life skills, and enrichment during our pathers school day. With the help of our community, CIS is currently able to provide services to Passmore students some of our previous partners have been able to provide support by hosting a clothing, supplies, or food drive, have been a guest speaker to our students, and Read Across America, shoe distributions, and dental services. If you would like to help our panther community by giving your time or by sponsoring an event, email the Passmore administration or me. 

 

Below is a list of the services that CIS has provided:

  • Counselors Cafecito's are every 3rd Friday of the month, join us for a cup of coffee and a pastry
  • Health & Human Services: School supplies, Panther Clothes Closet, and Food items 
  • Enrichment Activities: incentives for attendance, academics, behavior, Back to School Bash, field trips, calm down space 
  • Service events: Miles for Smiles, Immunization Day, Friends of CIS Pen Pals, Spring Coat Distribution, Popsicle Day, Glow In the Dark dance party, Pancakes with Santa, and many more
  • Supportive Guidance & Counseling: Licensed professional counseling, small group
