In the Academy of Programming and Software Development, students learn to apply relevant coding languages like Java, Python, and HTML, JavaScript, and C++ to software development and data management projects while earning programming certifications exclusive to NSITE. Our senior practicum takes students through the complete software lifecycle of planning, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining, making them marketable to employers and other tech startups. Our NSITE programmers also have the option their senior year of joining Entrepreneurs in building a virtual business!
All NSITE students will take the standard core courses, but it is recommended that all students take English at the Advanced level for all four years and all social studies courses at the Advanced level through U.S. History. All freshmen will take AP Human Geography. Your counselor will work with you to ensure that you meet all graduation and academy requirements. NSITE students must complete 6 NSITE credits prior to graduation and must be enrolled in at least one NSITE class each year.
NSITE Magnet School offers students the opportunity to enroll in a Dual Credit Pathway with Northwest Vista College. Students can earn up to 13 hours of Dual Credit leading to a Computer Programming OSA Certificate.
