Destiny
Please access our library catalog via MyPortal.
To log in to Destiny, students MUST log in to the Northside Portal first, click "Library Catalog - Follett Icon" and then click the button to log in with your NISD credentials.
Parents with an account will use their 9-digit phone number (2101234567) for both the username & Password.
PK/ECSE - Students can check out 1 book.
ALE/Kinder/1st grade - Students can check out up to 2 books.
2nd-5th grade - Students can check out up to 3 books.
Parents can visit the library to check out up to 5 books.
Students and parents can check out books for 10 days.
Library Programming
Fairy Tale Bowl
2nd grade students can participate in our Fairy Tale Bowl. Students are put on a team of 4. They will read 2-3 books each on the 10 book fairy tale bowl list compiled by the librarian. Books are bilingual, and they are a list of traditional fairy tale books and fractured fairy tale books.
Battle of the Bluebonnets
3rd-5th graders can participate in our Battle of the Bluebonnets. Students are put on a team of 4, and they each read 5 books on the current Texas Bluebonnet reading list. They will compete at the campus and then at district level. They can advance all the way to the city wide competition in the spring.
Library Crew
3rd-5th graders can help the librarian in the library. Students will help shelve books, shelf read, run errands, assist their classmates and other students with checking in and out books, and so much more.
2x2 Reading Challenge
Students in PK-1st will read these books when they visit the library. If a class completes all 20 books before the school year is over, they will get a special incentive.
Monthly Library Challenges
Every month the library will challenge all students to try out a new resource, check out books, and so much more!! Check out our newsletters to learn more.
Texas Bluebonnet Voting
Students in 3rd-5th grader who have read 5 books on the current Texas Bluebonnet list can vote in January!

Hello Mary Hull Roadrunners!! I am Mrs. Benavides your teacher librarian!! I am excited to get to know you and help you prepare for your future!!
A little about me:
- I am married and have 4 children - 2 boys and 2 girls!!
- I have 7 pets at home (1 dog, 3 cats, and 3 fish)!
- I love to read and sometimes read more than 1 book at a time!!
- Math was my favorite subject in school!! I love numbers!! Is that crazy!?
