Mr. Raker’s Music Room

Welcome to the Music program at Knowlton Elementary! My name is Mr. Raker, and I am the Music Specialist. This year, my students will sing, say, dance, and play in Music class, building a well-rounded set of skills.

Knowlton Elementary has a 6-day Discovery Time rotation schedule including Music, Art, STEM, and P.E. Students attend Music once every six school days. Music class features a lively mixture of singing, dancing, playing numerous instruments, and playing musical games.

About Mr. Raker:

This is my third year here at Knowlton Elementary, and sixth year teaching overall. I taught for three years at Mireles Elementary before becoming a Knowlton Knight. Before beginning my teaching career, I was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force Band, playing trombone while stationed here at Lackland AFB, as well as 7.5 years at Hanscom AFB near Boston, MA. Other career highlights include playing with the Disneyland Band for five years, three years with the Brian Setzer Orchestra, and a year-plus with the musical group “Blast!” I currently play ukulele, penny whistle and sing in a traditional Irish folk group called “The Happy Out.”
