Mrs. Krumholtz

Hello, my name is Monica Krumbholz and I am the new Dyslexia Instruction Specialist at Kallison. I am very excited to start this position as a newly added resource that focuses on helping students with dyslexia. Prior to this position, I was a reading specialist in Northside and an elementary classroom teacher. I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction - Literacy Studies from the University of Texas in Arlington and was awarded Educator of the Year in 2021. Dyslexia awareness has always been a passion of mine and I look forward to working with your child to support their literacy acquisition.

Mrs. Valadez

I am Kristin Valadez. I serve as the Reading Specialist at Kallison. This is my 19th year in education! I graduated with my Bachelor's degree from UTSA in 2005. I fulfilled my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher in 2005. I taught first and fourth grade at Valley Hi Elementary. When I was a classroom teacher, I noticed my struggling readers and felt the need to learn more about how I could help them improve. Because of this, I returned to UTSA to work on my Master's Degree. I graduated with my Master's of Education with a Reading Specialist Certificate in 2010. The following year I moved to Esparza Elementary and began my years as a reading specialist. Then in 2017, I had the opportunity to be the reading specialist at a brand new campus...Kallison!

My greatest joy is working with my students. I work with students who are struggling to decode texts or have difficulty with answering questions (comprehension) after they read. I work with these students in a small group setting with the goal of building upon their abilities so that they no longer need the extra support. I also support the teachers on our campus in the areas of reading and writing. My goal is to provide the reading and writing support that students need in elementary, at the foundational level, in order to set them up for success in the future. Kallison is my home and community - both of my daughters have attended our school. I look forward to continuing to work with our wonderful Kallison community for years to come!

Mrs. Traugott

Excited to begin my first year at Kallison as the Math Staff Developer (MSD). With 22 years of teaching experience in Northside, including 4 years as an MSD, I am dedicated to fostering a love for math and learning among students.

Growing up as an Army brat, I returned to San Antonio when my father retired, becoming a proud product of Northside's culture. I obtained my bachelor's degree in education from UTSA and a Master's in C& I from OLLU.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, stepson, and energetic 5-year-old, often engaging in activities like swimming and playing in our backyard.
I firmly believe in the potential for growth and success in all students and am eager to support the incredible Stampede community.
