The Harlan Hawk Library is a state-of-the-art learning center where students develop reading, listening, research, computer, and study skills, guided and assisted by the librarian, staff, and teachers. Students are welcome to use the library during their lunch as well as before and after school. Teachers may schedule class visits or send individual students with a pass. Students can work on computers, look for books, read independently, check out our study rooms to work in small groups, develop high-tech skills with our four 3D printers, build-your-own computer kits, VR goggles, and more in our Makerspace Room, and film video and audio projects in our green screen recording studio. We have 25 computer stations and 64 Chromebooks where students can research our 32 databases.
The Library has over 20,000 books, audiobooks, and eBooks available for borrowing. Students may borrow up to three items at a time for three weeks. Teachers can also borrow DVDs. The library is operated by a large volunteer library crew who earn service hours for their volunteer work. We have book clubs, a chess club, Multicultural Club, and special events such as Open Mic Night, movie night, and Literacy Night throughout the year.
