Thirty of CCA's business partners spent the afternoon visiting with our students during our annual Job Fair. This event was preceeded earlier in the year with the Resume' Writing Seminar and the Mock Interview Initiative. It all paid off for our students. Students were able to practice their soft skills and gather information from some of the best companies in town! Many of the encounters lead to job offers and summer internships. We appreciate the companies and representatives for coming; and congratulations to those who went home with a brand new beginning! More pictures of the event inside.

The Tiny Home Showcase of 2019 was another great event. Each year we have the opportunity to open up our campus to the community and business partners to showcase our students' work. New this year in addition to our two Tiny Homes on Wheels was a Micro Cabin Homestead which featured landscaping designs including garden beds, a backyard chicken coop and deer blinds that our students made. A big thank you to all our staff and parent volunteers who have had a huge impact to the success of our students! Inside are more pictures of the homes, the event and even links to some news coverage highlighting our program!

Each year, just days prior to our Tiny Home Showcase, we invite some NISD distinguished guests and business professionals to come and look over the Tiny Homes and pick the best features from each one. The judges have the opportunity to get the first look at the finished homes and ask select students about the homes and their strands' contribution. Click on the article to see some great pictures of the event and our students showcasing their work, and to see what honors the homes received.

CCA students from all strands and grade levels battled the mud and humidity to help a deserving family and Habitat for Humanity frame a home. After a slow start slipping and sliding through the mud, the students pushed though and were able to get all the walls up before the end of the day. Their efforts paid off when the studens saw the joy and excitement in the eyes of the future homeowner; who was grateful to have such talented people working on her home. A big thanks to all who attended and to Ms. Gerlich who lead the charge on this one! Good Job CCA!

ACE is an after school program that introduces our students to careers in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering and other disciplines. The ACE Mentor Program is driven by committed and enthusiastic participation of volunteer mentors who are practicing professionals in their respective field. This year for our ACE Mentorship project, our students focused on designing a Woodlawn Community Med Clinic. Through the work of the students and the mentors working together, they produced every aspect of the building from the site, building, and even the construction logistics just like an industry project. Finally to round out the project, one student from each of the small groups in the ACE Mentorship produced a 10 minute presentation for a panel of industry judges, who loved the project and had very positive feedback for our amazing students!
