Construction Management students visited Turner Construction. As part of CCA's ongoing efforts to ensure students get real world exposure to the construction industry, students visited a Turner Construction site. Students got a first hand look at how the concepts learned in CCA are applied to the industry. Students met with officials from Turner Construction.

Students from the Academy participate in the NISD Career Day hosted at O'Connor High School. Thirty-five students from various strands met with professional from a number of companies throughout the region. The event was hosted by the NISD Career and Technology department.

Brandt representative(s) meet with students to "talk industry." Student plumbers, electricians, carpenters and construction managers met with Brandt representative(s) to discuss industry needs and expectations. Brandt designs, builds, services and retrofits commercial and industrial facilities with solutions to meet industry needs.

Academy students showcased their water reclamation system at the San Antonio Water Systems (SAWS) Confluence. Students throughout the region showcased their project. The San Antonio Confluence conference is designed to explore water issues and devise ways students can present solutions and make a difference.

Academy students take home the gold, silver and bronze in seven SkillsUSA events at this years regional meet. Students will advance to the state competition in Corpus Christi Texas in April. Download a full list of award winners!

Student architects visit Tejas Premier Building Contractors, Inc. Academy students met with and networked with representatives from Tejas at their corporate offices. Students toured the facility, participated in a Q&A session, looked at projects in various stages of the build process, and showcased their talents. More Pictures Here!!

The TWC Commissioner Julian Alvarez visits the campus of Construction Careers Academy. Commissioner Alvarez met with students and staff to discuss the Academy's program and its impact on workforce development. The commissioner toured the facility and had lunch with staff and students. NEF representatives, accompanied by Apple Eddie, visit the campus. Engineering students and their instructor was awarded a NEF innovation grant. The $2723.64 grant will be used to support the engineering program through the purchase of advanced engineering equipment.

CCA hosted its annual open house for students interested in attending the Academy. The event was a huge success with over 450 in attendance. Parents and students interested in attending the Academy participated in a town hall meeting, Q&A session, toured the facility, met with staff/instructors, and spoke with current parents and students.
