What is S.T.E.M?
STEM education is a method of hands-on teaching and learning where students learn to apply academic content by creatively solving real-world problems with innovative design-based thinking to prepare students for future career opportunities. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. In our STEM classroom we are continuously learning to be creators, leaders, collaborators, communicators, innovators, critical thinkers, and solution-finders. Often we use the design process to think through project/problem based learning. As your child's STEM teacher my job is to introduce your child to STEM thinking with the intention to strengthen them to be solution finders, life long learners and citizens of high character.
