At Jerry D. Allen Elementary, we have had the Success for All Program for reading for the last 28 years. It has helped our children to read, learn and succeed through cooperative learning strategies and research-based programs. Success for All supports and inspires students, parents, teachers and administration to work together to create an engaging and effective learning environment. The schoolwide program begins in Pre-kindergarten with “Curiosity Corner”, Kindergarten uses “Kinder Corner” and in 1st-5th grade they start in “Reading Roots” and move into “Wings”. Students learn many cooperative learning and reading strategies starting in Pre-kinder and build on them throughout their years at Allen. We believe every child can be successful and learn to read, yet we also realize that every child’s success looks different, and will be achieved at different rates.
