NEW! 2016-17 Learning Tree Scholarship Program
The Dr. John Folks Scholarship Program strives to make the Learning Tree program accessible to as many students as possible. The goals of the program are to provide a safe place for students to engage in productive activities during the after school hours, and to promote parental involvement in order to stress the importance of the parent role in their child's education. A limited number of tuition waivers are available.
In order to be considered for this scholarship, the following criteria must be met:
*Pay the standard registration fee per child ($30 per year.)
*Qualify for financial hardship based on federal income guidelines. Proof of income will need to be provided (income tax return.)
*Have a child care need (working parents or attending school.) Proof of work and/or school schedule will need to be provided.
Requirements to maintain the scholarship:
Student will maintain 90% attendance in school and Learning Tree.
Student wll maintain a 75 average or a "Satisfactory" grade every grading period.
Student will receive no more than 2 discipline referrals per school year.
Parent will participate in at least one parent involvement activity per month with campus and/or Learning Tree.
Application period: May 2-19, 2016. Deadline to apply: May 19, 2015. Parent notified: May 26, 2016. Student start date: August 22, 2016.
Application period: May 19-July 8, 2016. Deadline to apply July 8, 2016. Parent notified: July 15, 2016. Student start date: August 22, 2016.
Application period: July 9- September 9, 2016. Deadline to apply September 9, 2016. Parent notified: September 15, 2016. Student start date: October 1, 2016.
Application period: September 10, 2016- January 13, 2017. Deadline to apply January 13, 2017. Parent notified: January 20, 2017. Student start date: February 1, 2017.
All applications will remain on file for the school year in which they are submitted and will continue to be reviewed by the committee in subsequent application periods. Committee decisions will be final and are not subject to appeal.

|Registration Fees for Tuition Based Sites|
|$30 per child; non-refundable|
$210 monthly, September - May (Elementary); $150 monthly, September - May (Middle School)
Tuition is based on 177 school days.
|Discounts for Tuition Based Sites|
|Discounts for siblings: $20 discount for 2nd child, $40 discount for 3 or more children. Scholarships and dditional discounts may be available, please contact your Program Specialist for more information.|
|Payments for Tuition Based Sites|
As a reminder the new PaySchools/PayForIt will charge 3.25% transaction fee on the total amount for all credit cards/debit cards. If you pay by check the transaction fee will remain at $1.75.
Payment is due on the first of each month. On the sixth day, a late fee of $25 will be added to the tuition payment.
The fastest, most convenient way to submit payment is online through the Parent Portal: http://parentportal.kidscarecenter.com.
You may set up auto-bill pay with your financial institution.
NISD employees have the option of payroll deduct.
