The Washington Post just released their rankings for America's Most Challenging High Schools 2016. Business Careers is ranked #66 in the state and #442 in the nation! Thank you to all the staff, students, and parents who make each year a success. Our students consistently achieve great things-but not without the support of family and staff. You have a lot to be proud of....congrats to all!
You may recall that last year we participated in the Student Spaceflight Experiment Program at the high school level and students from Business Careers who were taking a class at Holmes were selected to have their experiment fly on board the International Space Station. Originally, their experiment launched in June, but there was a malfunction and the rocket was lost. Today, their experiment is set to launch again. The students - John and Kaitlyn have shown tremendous poise, maturity, and patience throughout this process.
On Saturday, April 2nd, Biannca Recoder was honored by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) with a $5,000 scholarship at the 2016 Entrepreneurial Spirit Awards Gala. Each year, many students from around the city participate in NAWBO activities, which include business plan workshops, guest speakers, networking with local business owner, and culminating in a business plan writing competition.
BC sophomore, Justin Graham placed first in the District UIL Computer Applications contest on Friday. This is the second year that Justin has won this contest.
