Kinder Round Up

It’s almost time to register new kindergarten students for the 2013-2014 school year. You may enroll your child between 8:00 and 3:30 on April 15—19. Please bring the following documents with you:
• Original Birth Certificate
• Immunization Record
• Proof of Residence (recent electric bill, water bill, or dated lease contract)
• Parent’s Driver’s License or Photo ID
• Social Security Card of child being registered (optional)
• Affidavit of Residence (if applicable) or Legal Guardianship Paperwork (if applicable)

NISD's Elementary New Teacher of the Year - Mr. Joe Garay

Congratulations to Mr. Joe Garay who was recently named Northside's Elementary New Teacher of the Year. Mr. Garay was chosen by a panel that recognized his oustanding efforts as a first year teacher and for always giving 100 percent when it comes to enriching the lives of children. What an amazing accomplishment from an amazing teacher.

We want to thank the Texas Commission of the Arts for donating $700 in matching grants to bring Sue Young, Story teller and Bill Perryman: History in Person to Valley Hi. Performances were made possible with money earned from our campus Book Fair.

Congratulations to the following staff members who were recently recognized as Valley Hi's Staff of the Year. Mrs. Elizabeth Gilliam was named Valley Hi's Teacher of the Year. She is one of our special education teachers who works primarily with third grade students and serves as the campus leader/coordinator for our special education programs. Mrs. Gilliam is an outstanding educator who works very hard to make sure our students needs are being met. Mr. Joe Garay was named Valley Hi's New Teacher of the Year. Mr. Garay has been part of the Valley Hi family for several years.
