H1N1 Update

Dear Parents,
Many of you have asked about the vaccines for the H1N1 flu virus. The NISD webpage is the best place to find updated and accurate information about the H1N1 flu and how it is affecting the school district. Currently, there is NO definite timetable from Metro Health Dept and federal health agencies on when vaccine will arrive to be distributed at local school campuses. Please visit http://www.nisd.net/healthservices/h1n1/ to read about the district plan and how it may affect your family.
As always we want to encourage you to remember to keep your children home if they feel ill. Children should be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Please practice "good hand hygiene" by frequently washing hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand gel. If your child has flu-like symptoms, fever, body aches, sore throat, runny nose, vomiting and/or nausea, please keep them home. We want to work with you to keep your children safe at Valley Hi Elementary.

Mr. Gann shows off Valley Hi's Artists!

Artsonia.com is the "world's largest kid's art museum!" Mr. Jerry Gann, Art teacher at Valley Hi has decided to showcase our talented students as well. And, the best thing is...you can purchase your very own piece of art created by one of our Valley Hi artists! In doing so, Artsonia will donate 15% of the proceeds to Valley Hi to help raise money for art supplies.
