NEF 5K Run

The 2014 Northside Education Foundation (NEF) 5K Run/Walk and Family Wellness Fair, presented by AXA, took place  on Saturday, March 29. In 2013, almost 5,000 participated, setting a record for NEF and the need to super-size from NISD's Dub Farris Stadium to SeaWorld. Funds raised are used for classroom and department resource, innovation and team grants that help faculty and staff maintain innovative programs that benefit the District's 101,000-plus students.

There is lots going on at Scarborough....Check it out....

-Kindergarten has started learning about Place Value!  They are doing FABULOUS!  They are putting manipulatives in groups of tens and seeing how many ones we have left over!  Our kindergarteners are also writing the numbers in the right "place"!  YAY!

-First Grade went to the Magik Theatre to see Skippyjon Jones.  They had a fabulous time learning and writing about performances.

-Second Grade is working super hard on Woodland Forest Unit and Animal Projects.  Make sure to come look in their hallway next week!

-Third Grade is excited to "spring" into action by continuing to learn about time and measurement, two by one multiplication, and fractions in math!  In reading, we are "busy as bees" getting ready for our STAAR test!  We know our strategies and are working on using them to help us as we read.  We can hardly contain our "energy" in science as we learn about our local cultures and celebrations, as well as various types of energy.  We are looking forward to our field trip to the Institute of Texan Cultures later this month!

-Fouth and Fifth Grade attended the San Antonio Symphony.   Student artwork was displayed during The Water Cycle & Paint to Music concert.
