Northside ISD Technology kicked off the summer in style with two engaging and exciting events: Tech Expo and Camp Tech!
On May 25, students, parents, and teachers gathered at Paul Taylor Fieldhouse and NAC to celebrate the 3rd annual Kelly Smith Technology Expo. Student exhibits from more than 100+ campuses showed the community how Northside ISD is implementing technology in the classroom everyday. Participants saw how students are engaged and educated by experiencing 21st century technologies. San Antonio was abuzz with enthusiasm over the trending #NISDTechExpo, as attendees took to Twitter to discuss the inspiring displays at the event.
The technological learning experience didn’t stop there; Camp Tech was still around the corner! At this three day professional development event, June 7 - 9, teachers and staff gained even more knowledge and skills on how to engage today’s learners by bringing new programs and technologies into their curriculum. Over 179 sessions were offered, including new and interesting classes from the Curriculum and Instruction department.
But the main event of #NISDCampTech was the keynote speech by George Couros (@gcouros), author of The Innovator’s Mindset and an innovative teaching, learning and leadership consultant. Mr. Couros stressed the importance of change and making sure students have a good “digital footprint.”
