Academic Technology Coaches have returned for the new school year and are currently participating in the 2015-2016 Academic Technology Coach Camp held at the Northside Learning Center. This new school year welcomes 11 new coaches and together with the 9 veteran coaches they are sharing their knowledge with each other. Presentations include Creating Fun Formative Assessments, Technology and Blended learning, Google Classroom as a tool for the Flipped Classroom, App Smashing, and the SAMR model incorporated into lesson plans.
Academic Technology Coordinators are leading discussions on Differentiated Instruction, Establishing AT Coach Norms, reviewing policies and procedures, discussing digital citizenship and conducting hands-on workshops to introduce Twitter Chat and Social Media in Education. The coaches will also begin their book study Instructional Coaching: A Partnership Approach to Improving Instruction by Jim Knight.
The Coach Camp is quite intense with a variety of workshops, opportunities for reflection, and professional development.
