Intervention Program, 3-5: Herman Method Kit A (Must Attend Both Days)
Herman Method is a multisensory/biohemispheric, synthetic phonics reading approach. The emphasis of the program is decoding, sight words, structural analysis, use of contextual clues, and dictionary skills with consistent emphasis on fluency and comprehension. A spelling and writing curriculum is taught in conjunction with the reading curriculum. This program is designed to be delivered in a small group setting of no more than 5 students.

Intervention Program, 3-5: Herman Method Kit B (One Day Only)
Turn low-performing readers into successful readers with The Herman Method. An Orton-Gillingham-based multisensory approach to teaching reading in small groups, this curriculum provides phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills as outlined in the Reading First requirements. The Herman Method:
  • Includes spelling and writing instruction
  • Is effective with groups of up to three students in all types of environments
  • Has a structured teaching system that can be modified to meet individual student needs
  • Allows students to strengthen four learning channels—visual, kinesthetic, auditory, and tactile
  • Provides direct instruction and practice exercises

Lexia Reading Core5 supports educators in providing differentiated literacy instruction for students of all abilities in grades pre-K–5. Lexia’s research-proven program provides explicit, systematic, personalized learning in the six areas of reading instruction, targeting skill gaps as they emerge, and providing teachers with the data and student-specific resources they need for individual or small-group instruction.

Intervention Program, 3-5: Corrective Reading
For users of Corrective Reading - A comprehensive intervention program for grades 3 through adult. Two major strands and four instructional levels address a wide range of reading problems. The Decoding and Comprehension strands can be used separately as a supplemental reading intervention or combined for use as a comprehensive reading intervention program. Multiple points of entry and fast-cycle options appropriately address skill levels of students in Grades 3-Adult. Fully integrated assessments monitor progress and guide movement through the program. *This session is for participants that currently have Corrective Reading purchased.

Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI): K-5
The Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Interventionis a powerful, short-term intervention, that provides daily, intensive, small-group instruction, which supplements classroom literacy teaching. LLI turns struggling readers into successful readers with engaging leveled books and fast-paced, systematically designed lessons.
