Namesake

Murray E. Boone served as the second Superintendent of Northside Independent School District from 1953 to 1964. Before becoming Superintendent, he served as Principal of Northside High School (now Marshall High School) from 1950 to 1953 and also taught at Leon Valley Elementary School from 1949-50. Before his retirement in 1969, Boone also served as Director of Research and Planning.

Boone was a life-long educator who served 36 years in education; 21 of those years were spent with Northside ISD.

Two well-known figures will be keynote speakers at the second annual Family Engagement Conference to be held Friday, Sept. 30 at Northside Activity Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

NISD offers free & reduced-price meals for qualifying students
Northside Independent School District (NISD) announced its policy today for providing free and reduced-price meals for children served under the attached current income eligibility guidelines. Each school/site or the central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by anyone on request.

More than 7,500 kindergarten children expected to register
Once again, Northside is expecting a large kindergarten enrollment for the upcoming school year, making it all the more critical that parents register their children during Kinder Roundup in order to secure a seat at their neighborhood school. More than 7,500 kindergarten students are expected to enroll for the 2016-17 school year.
