ASL CLUB

Purpose:   For students interested in learning ASL.    

Meetings: Every Thursday at 7:45 beginning October 25th

CODING CLUB

Sponsor: Paige Fosmire

Purpose:   Coding Club is a fun way to learn the basics of computer programming, gain problem solving and logical thinking skills, and make friends.  The purpose of this club is to build interest in coding and requires no prior coding experience.

Meetings: Every Friday during all lunches

CRAFT CLUB

Sponsors:  Ashley Bertie and      Lucia Nerio

Purpose:    Provides students the opportunity to create arts and crafts and participate in school beautification projects.

Meetings: First and third Tuesday from 7:45-8:20

GAMES & PUZZLE CLUB

Sponsor:  TIna Garcia and Rheda Hunter

Purpose:  Students will play board games and do fun puzzles.

GAMMA SIGMA

Purpose:  Leadership Group for girls.  They participate in service projects.

Meetings: Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00

FRIENDS HAVING FUN BUDDY CLUB

Sponsor:  Sheree Kreusel

Purpose:   Buddies come in to hang out with students, eat breakfast, play games, and visit.  During Special Olympics each student will have a buddy they have come to know who will assist them in their event.

Meetings: Varies, based on events calendar.  See Ms. Kreusel for details

DRAMA CLUB

Purpose:   Improve games, activities, and dramatic fun!  Join us to get a glimpse of what Theatre Arts is all about.

GUITAR CLUB

Sponsor:  Robert Barnett

Purpose:  To inspire one’s ability to play guitar in an individual or group setting.

Meetings: Every other Wednesday from 3:50-5:00 stating September 19th

JAZZ BAND

Purpose:  To promote jazz awareness throughout the music department.

Meetings: Every other Friday beginning September 14th from 3:45-5:00

Purpose:  Students will meet, greet, and welcome new students to campus.

LIBRARY LOUNGE

Purpose:  Sign up in the library to share your talents, singing, dancing, skits, musical instruments, juggling, etc. - come show your friends your talents!

MAKER SPACE CLUB

Purpose: Students collaborate to create, invent, and tackle challenges using everyday objects as well as high tech tools like the 3D printer.

MINECRAFT CLUB

Purpose:  Play Minecraft EDU in school server environment.

Meetings: Every Tuesday from 7:45-8:20

LUNCH & LISTEN BOOK CLUB

Purpose: Students eat their lunch in the library and listen to an audiobook and discuss the book with each other and the librarian.

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

Purpose:  The Stinson chapter of NJHS provides members an opportunity to develop leadership, service and a commitment to lifelong success.

PAWS CLUB

Purpose: Service Projects to help and support animals.

Meetings: First Tuesday of every month from 7:45-8:20

RECYCLE CLUB

Purpose:  To provide students with an opportunity to be a community contributor as they collect paper and boxes throughout the school.

Meetings: Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00

ROBOTICS CLUB

Sponsors:  Bryan Patterson and David Blair

Purpose: To build robots using LEGO Mindstorm technology to compete in the First Lego League (FLL) competitions.  Teams create robots to complete tasks and give presentations about solutions to real-world problems that may be solved by technology.

Meetings: Every Thursday from 4:00-5:00

SPANISH CLUB

Purpose:  The purpose of the Society is to recognize fellowship and service by students of middle school who are studying Spanish.

SPIRIT/DANCE CLUB

Sponsors:Valerie Guajardo and Tanesha Ramirez

Purpose:  Share the joy of dance with students.  In previous years members

have performed at:  Winterfest, Spurs games, Silver Stars games, parades and more!

Meetings: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:00-5:15

STUDENT COUNCIL

Sponsors:  Christi Blount and Belinda Markovich                                                 

Purpose:  The Student Council is comprised of students elected by their peers to represent them in decisions affecting the student body.  The student council organizes student dances and concessions at football games and other special events, plans Howdy Week, Red Ribbon Week, and participates in community service projects.

Meetings: 9/14; 10/3; 11/14; 12/12; 2/6; 3/20; 4/3; 4/24; 5/1; 6/5 from 7:45-8:15
