ACE Mentor Program in its 10th Year at the SEA

The ACE Mentor Program’s mission is to enlighten and increase the awareness of high school students to career opportunities in architecture, construction management, and engineering. In the program students are mentored by professionals in the engineering, design, and construction industry as they create a product for review by experts in respective fields. This unique partnership with industry professionals involves mentors who guide students through the production of drawings, renderings, and scaled models for commercial or residential architectural purposes. Students present blueprints, solid model renderings, and prototypes to a panel of professional architects and engineers. The Science and Engineering Academy was one of the founding schools for the ACE Member Program in the San Antonio area and has been involved since 2006. Mr. Luis Rivera, a practicing engineer for 10 years prior to becoming a teacher, brings tremendous knowledge and skills to his role as faculty sponsor of the ACE Mentor Program. Details about the application process, timelines, and requirements about the ACE Mentor Program can be obtained from Mr. Rivera in the project room (A218).
