… because challenging course offerings greet students every day. 45 Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses are offered to students every year, and last year 36% were enrolled in one or more courses.
… because last year 648 students completed 1436 AP Exams which resulted in 85 AP Scholars and 4 National AP Scholars.
… because students have access to and are enrolled in more than 65 Career and Technology courses in 16 Business and Industry and Public Service Graduation Endorsement Strands.
… because over half of the student body are members of a Fine Arts performance group or enrolled in a Fine Arts class.
… because the Larry Martin Library logged 96,904 student visits last school year, and those students checked out over 19,000 books and logged in to library databases 125,000 times.
… because OHS graduating classes consistently earn over $7 million in scholarships yearly.
… because students at OHS can be a part of over 35 campus clubs and almost 50 competitive athletic and academic teams.
… because our athletic programs focus on more than just the thrill of victory. Through hard work and dedication, learning about team over self, being leaders in the classroom, and acting with honesty and responsibility, the OHS Panthers have won District, Regional and State Championships.
… because we’re home to one of the largest FFA Chapters in the Nation, and those FFA students have won 30 State Championships and millions of dollars of scholarships for their efforts.
… because in 2014-15, our students were named National Champions in Ag and Business team competitions, and our Panther Band was a State UIL Finalist.
